ABSTRACT:
In this work, flow of a Newtonian fluid with dust particles past a rotating vertical cone embedded in a porous medium has been considered. Here an analysis is carried out to study how viscosity and thermal conductivity change with temperature and its effects on velocity, heat and mass transfer of a dusty fluid in presence of a magnetic field. We have taken Saffman model to study the problem. Variable temperature and concentration are maintained at the surface of the cone. Similarity transformations are employed to transform the partial differential equations governing the flow into ordinary differential equations. Resultant transformed equations are then solved numerically using fourth order Runge-Kutta method with shooting technique. Numerical results are found for velocity, temperature and species concentration profiles and are presented graphically and discussed significant features for various flow governing parameters. It is found that viscosity of both the fluid and dust phase decreases with viscosity variation parameter increases, but an opposite effect is observed with thermal conductivity variation parameter. Magnetic parameter leads to enhance the temperature profile significantly within the boundary layer. Finally numerical values of skin friction coefficient, Nusselt number and Sherwood number are obtained and presented in tabular form for different values of parameters to show interesting features of the problem.
